06.20.11 - As a result of the Terra Lunar Calibration (Roll) Maneuver #106, Terra granule 2011-06-20 08:25 will not be produced. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

06.15.11 - As a result of the Terra Drag Make-up Maneuver #62, Terra granules 2011-06-15 16:25 - 17:25 will not be produced. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

06.10.11 - The Aqua granule that started about 2011-06-09 23:00 and ended at 01:10 had corrupt timestamps which caused our system to miss the data. This has been manually corrected. However, some granules at the edges of this period have already processed with partial data or without the usual previous/next granules, and the granules fully within the region were produced late. The degraded granules will not be reproduced. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

05.31.11 - On Wednesday June 1, 2011 (DOY 152) beginning around 13:00 UT, EDOS will be performing system maintenance. The maintenance may result in delays in receiving Level 0 products and, therefore, may result in LANCE-MODIS near-real-time processing delays. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

04.14.11 - Due to a system issue, near-real-time processing was down on nrt1.modaps.eosdis.nasa.gov from around 10:00AM to 10:00PM EDT yesterday 04/13/2011. The system issue has been resolved and near-real-time processing has caught up. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

04.12.11 - An error occurred while processing the Aqua Level 0 data for 2011-04-12 06:01:59 - 07:39:00 due to the timestamps of some of the packets being corrupt. As a result, the Aqua granules for 05:50 - 07:45 were delayed. Once the error was discovered, the timestamps were reset and processing was able to move forward.

04.06.11 - As a result of the Terra Drag Make-up Maneuver #61, Terra granules 2011-04-06 15:40 - 16:55 will not be produced. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

03.09.11 - The Aqua MODIS granules for 2011-03-09 03:50 - 04:10 are not available due to a corrupt MYDGBAD file. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.
UPDATE: We received an updated MYDGBAD file, so the granules are now available.

03.07.11 - The Terra Level 0 data for 2011-03-05 14:55 - 16:25 and 18:10 - 18:25 are missing or corrupted. As a result, the following granules will not be produced: 2011-03-05 15:00 - 16:05, 16:15 - 16:20, 18:10 - 18-20. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

03.03.11 - LANCE-MODIS has added some new directories to its FTP site. In addition to the current directory structure, allData/1/<esdt>/<year>/<dataday>, you will now find allData/1/<esdt>/Recent. This directory contains copies of the files found in the <year>/<dataday> directories. Some of our users requested this addition to simplify their scripts which pull data from the FTP site. Please take a look at your scripts to ensure that they are not impacted by the addition of the new directories.

02.28.11 - We are pleased to announce that the NASA EOS Data and Operations System (EDOS) has made improvements to the Terra L0 delivery system that will result in lower latency for MODIS Terra near-real-time data. While we don't anticipate consequential changes to data products we want to notify users of this upcoming change in case there are issues. If you experience anything abnormal please send an email to modapsuso@sigmaspace.com and Edward.J.Masuoka@nasa.gov. We expect these changes to decrease latency by anywhere from 5-30 minutes based on satellite downlinks and other factors. The changes will go into effect on Wednesday March 2nd at approximately 10am Eastern time.

11.23.10 - The Aqua spacecraft has been experiencing problems with the high rate science partition. Data times impacted are approximately from 2010-11-23 10:16 through 2010-11-23 13:41. As a result, some granules from this period may be missing and some may be reprocessed as updated Level 0 data files are sent by EDOS.

08.25.10 - Due to an operations issue, data was not staged to the LANCE-MODIS FTP server from approximately 10:30pm EDT last night, August 24, 2010, to 9:30am EDT this morning, August 25, 2010. 08.19.10 - Aqua Level Zero product deliveries from EDOS were interrupted for about 4 hours yesterday due to Alaska high rate line maintenance. The Alaska high rate line was restored at 2010-08-18 19:15z. As of 2010-08-18 21:15z, EDOS had received and processed all delayed Aqua contacts. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

08.12.10 - As a result of the Terra Drag Make-Up Maneuver #59, the following Terra granules will not be produced: 2010-08-11 15:15 to 15:25 and 16:20 - 17:35. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

07.27.10 - Advisory to MODIS Atmosphere Product Users
Effective July 28, 2010, NOAA/NCEP is updating the model that provides MODIS algorithms with 6-hour gridded (GDAS) atmospheric temperature and moisture profiles. We are still investigating the impacts of these ancillary data changes on MODIS products, but we anticipate that retrieved cloud-top temperatures and pressures along with some cloud optical properties may be impacted. We will update this advisory after conducting further analysis of these impacts.

07.16.10 - Due to an operations error, near-real-time processing was interrupted from approximately 3pm EDT last night, July 15, 2010, to 11am EDT this morning, July 16, 2010. The error has been corrected and near-real-time processing has resumed. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

07.01.10 - On 2010-06-30, a command was sent to the Terra spacecraft which added an additional second to the Command and Telemetry Interface Unit (CTIU). As a result, there will be geolocation errors on all science data from 2010-07-01 00:00 to 2010-07-01 23:59. The geolocation errors should be about 500m at the equator, dropping down to 0m at each pole, with the error entirely in the E-W direction.

06.28.10 - On 2010-06-26, the Terra Spacecraft experienced a Science Formatter Error that resulted in a data loss. As a result, 39 Level 2 granules from 03:10 to 06:25 are unavailable. The Level 2G and Level 3 products have been produced without these granules. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

06.18.10 - Due to an operations error, data was not staged to the LANCE-MODIS FTP server from approximately 6pm EDT last night, June 17, 2010, to 9am EDT this morning, June 18, 2010. The error has been corrected and data is now being staged to the FTP server. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

06.01.10 - LANCE-MODIS experienced a failure over the weekend of the server that receives data from EDOS. As a result, we did not receive the MYDGBAD ancillary product for 2010-150 09:54 - 19:37 until this morning. The Aqua MODIS near-real-time products for this time period are now being produced. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

05.27.10 - LANCE-MODIS was not able to receive MODIS and AMSR-E Level 0 data between Wednesday May 26, 2010 at 4:00PM EDT and Thursday May 27, 2010 at 9:00AM EDT. The problem has been resolved and we are now catching up with near-real-time processing. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

05.20.10 - LANCE-MODIS experienced a software error yesterday, Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at 11:00 AM EDT that delayed near-real-time processing. The error has now been fixed and near-real-time processing has resumed. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

04.29.10 - There is no Terra Level 0 data available for 2010-04-28 18:16:31 through 2010-04-28 18:56:37 due to the failure of a critical PF2 contact. As a result, seven Level 2 granules (2010-04-28 18:20 through 2010-04-28 18:50) are not available and the Level 2G and Level 3 products for 2010-04-28 have been delayed. 01.15.10 - The Terra Level 0 data for 2010-01-14 17:24:45 through 2010-01-14 18:15:02 have been received. The twelve Level 2 granules and the Level 2G and Level 3 products for 2010-01-14 are now available.

01.15.10 - There is no Terra Level 0 data available from EDOS for 2010-01-14 17:24:45 through 2010-01-14 18:15:02. As a result, twelve Level 2 granules (2010-01-14 17:20 through 2010-01-14 18:15) and the Level 2G and Level 3 products for 2010-01-14 have been delayed. 01.07.10 - There is no NISE data available from NSIDC after January 5. This has interrupted near-real-time processing. As a result, the Level 1B and Land products have been delayed. The Atmosphere products won't be available until NISE data is available. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

01.04.10 - Because of a Level Zero processing software problem, EDOS suspended Level Zero product generation from late Thursday, December 31, 2009 to Saturday, January 2, 2010. Since we began receiving MODIS Level Zero data from EDOS late Saturday, January 2, 2010, near-real-time processing has gradually recovered. However, we only generated partial Aqua data for DOY 2010001-2010002, and partial Terra data for DOY 2010001-2010003 because we did not have full input data for the datadays. If we receive additional Level Zero data for DOY 2010001-2010003 within 48 hours from the observation, we will generate the near-real-time product data. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

12.29.09 - The LANCE-MODIS maintenance scheduled for Tuesday, December 29, 2009 from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM EST has been completed. Near-real-time processing has resumed and the FTP site is available.

12.29.09 - LANCE-MODIS experienced database errors this morning, Tuesday, December 29, 2009 from 2:00 AM - 8:00 AM EST. As a result, near-real-time processing was delayed. A software upgrade has been installed to fix these errors. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.
